June 18-20, 2004, we will remember the men who fought so bravely to defend our land here in Hernando, Mississippi. We invite you to come and celebrate their memory with us as we reenact the battle from the War Between the States ...
Note the following events:
Ball on the Hernando Courthouse steps (7:00pm until 10:00pm, Saturday, June 19, 2004) ... The Unreconstructed Band will perform as couples do the dances which were popular during the time of the War Between the States. All are invited to join in.
Sunday Morning Worship (9:00am, Sunday, June 20, 2004) will be held. Dr. Gary Roper will be the preacher. The message will be one appropriate for the period of the war. |

Unreconstructed Band will perform !!!
Un-Reconsturcted is a five-piece War for Southern Indepndence string band which also performs Irish and Scottish folk music, along with other 19th century music. Un-reconstructed appears throughout the southern and eastern United States performing for a variety of events. Their gentre of music is appropriete for period balls, SCV banquets, Irish Pubs, school assemblies, cemetery dedications, and reenactments. The musical group has appeared as far north as Gettysburg, and as far south as Biloxi and at many small towns and far off places in between.
"Our goal from the beginning has been to have a sound that is original and authentic. I think maybe we have managed "unique" if nothing else. Remember, we are a work in progress."

People seem to truly be moved by the old songs sung by Un-Reconstructed. Possibly, it is because they are reminded of times, places, and people long gone. It is truly amazing the power that music has on the heart.
The music of the Un-Reconstructed band has graced many reenactments ,dances, and conferences, as well as being featured on various commercials, specials, and some special new projects soon to be available.
